Celebrating Dr. Myles Munroe

I wanted to take a moment to celebrate the life and ministry of Dr. Myles Munroe. Though I did not know him personally, he was my spiritual father/mentor on earth. I got saved in his church, that was the best day of my life and I’ve been saved for over 17 years now! About 7-yrs ago I was inspired by the Kingdom Message.  God placed a desire in me  to become a writer for His Kingdom and pursue ministry in Alaska.

I’m in shock and a bit sad with the passing of Dr. Munroe, his wife and members of his beloved ministry team. I’m also inspired and my soul rejoices in the Lord because I was reminded by my husband and partner in ministry that Dr. Munroe accomplished what he desired to do and that was to die empty.

Dying Empty

Dr. Munroe said that the richest place in the world is the graveyard. He said that in those graveyards lie, cures for diseases, potential doctors, teachers, inventors, writers, inspiring music and great works of art. Countless ideas that died with  people who did not or could not pursue them. That is why he said with God’s help, he wanted to die empty and I believe he did. I believe he fulfilled every task God placed on his heart. God used him to draw many to Christ, my husband and I included and he did it with a great passion and sincere  desire for people to intimately know our Heavenly Father.

I believe that right now there is a beautiful homecoming taking place in the heavenly realm. I believe that our brother in Christ, his wife and travel companions are beholding the Lamb of God and hearing those words we all desire to hear…

“Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.”Matthew 25:21

Let us be reminded as we lift up the family members in prayer that  we do not mourn as the world does and this was not beyond God’s control. I believe that Myles and all who was with him have finished the race and are in the arms of the Lord. Let us pray that the joy of the Lord will be the strength for all those who feel this loss. I pray that His Peace would allow us to rejoice, for our Father has done  and will continue to do great things amongst His children.

Father God I pray for the children and loved ones of our brothers and sisters in Christ . I pray that Your Grace, Peace and Comfort  be multiplied to the families and all who mourn their earthly departure and rejoice in their heavenly arrival.  In Jesus name. Amen.

This Is Our Hope

 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in Him.

Thank you Father God for such a blessed life and ministry. May the seeds brother Myles planted continue to take root, flourish and draw many more to You. We will meet again Friends of God.

Jesus on: Temptation

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness He revealed to us the deceptive tools used to draw us into temptation.

Deception # 1 When you are at your weakest, get you to question who you are in Christ.

And when He (Jesus) had fasted forty days and forty nights, afterward He was hungry.  Now when the tempter came to Him, he said, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.” Matthew 4:2-3 NKJV

In Matthew Chapter 3 God declared this about His Son:

When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and aligning upon Him.  And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” Matthew 3:16-17

Note: how the tempter left out beloved and that God was well pleased with Him. This same trick was used in the Garden of Eden when the provisions of God were questioned. God told Man that he could freely eat from any tree in the garden except for the one tree that would bring forth death.  When questioned by the tempter Eve was asked, “Did God really say, ‘you must not eat from any tree in the garden?” –genesis 3:1

Same trick but the results are the same to get you to question the provisions of God  and the abundance you have in Him by pointing you to your lack and insufficiency’s.

Deception #2 Use your own desires to tempt you.

A desire is not limited to the lust of your flesh it can include your desires and plans from God. Have you ever had a vision from God and in your desire to see it fulfilled moved ahead of God to make it happen yourself.

“Again, the devil took Him up on an exceedingly high mountain, and showed Him all the kingdoms of the world and their glory.  And he said to Him, “All these things I will give You if You will fall down and worship me.”  Then Jesus said to him, “Away with you, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.’”Matthew 4:8-10

This was Jesus’ mission, to take back and save the world, this was His desire and it was used to tempt Him. But look at Jesus’ response to each temptation…the Word of God. Now for us the Word has become flesh and that flesh overcame temptation, death and every obstacle that we face in life and in Him we are more than conquerors. We’re not in this fight alone, we have Christ!

Here’s the thing God is not looking at you, your past and flaws, He’s looking at His perfect, spotless Son. God isn’t looking at your resume, He’s looking at His. His grace, His strength, His abilities and unfailing love. So when temptation comes  whatever the temptation may be,  remember who you  are in God’s eyes and who’s doing the good work through you. JESUS.

If Great Men Give Up

I had a heartfelt talk with my son the other day. He said, “Mom when I decided to take some initiative and  did my own research instead of using the info and links my teacher gave me, I failed the assignment.” He then asked, “What’s the point of even trying to do more or reach higher if I’m only going to fail in the end?”

I asked him what if all the great men and women in the world gave up after their first failed attempt. What if the Wright Brothers gave up after their first failed attempt at flying, then we wouldn’t have flight.

What if scientist gave up at their first failed attempt to create a cure for the world’s diseases?

What if Christ gave up after being, denied, betrayed and rejected, then there would be no hope in this world and hope is the fuel that drives us.

We need to take a page from Jacob, despite wrestling with God till dawn and being struck in his hip, he refused to let go, he had a spirit that said I will not let you go until you bless me and God blessed him and changed his name to Israel which means,(who prevails with God). Jacob refused to let go despite the fight, the setbacks, the pain and struggle (Genesis 32:22-28).

God has placed gifts, vision and greatness in all of us, we all have a purpose in life to fulfill and we can’t allow fear or failure to stop us “For God has not given us a spirit of fear (or defeat), but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2Timothy 1:7. Could you imagine what the world would be like if great men and great women like you gave up? I imagine it would be a world not worth living in. I encourage you to keep pursuing your God-given dreams and passions. Don’t give up.

Now Is Your Time

Now Is Your Time

There was a pool called Bethesda where a multitude waited for the stirring of the water, the word says, “For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well.” (John 5:4) NKJV

It was there that Jesus came across a man who had been suffering with his infirmity for 38 years. Jesus asked him, “Do you want to get well?” The man replied, “I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes down ahead of me.” Jesus says to him, “Get up! Pick up your mat and walk.” (John 5:6-8 NIV)

There is so much revelation in this, but allow me to share this one with you. God has stirred the hearts of many. Some felt the stirring, heard God’s call and with great courage boldly stepped into God’s will for their lives. Then there are some of us who felt the stirring, know they’ve been called but like the infirmed man had a mountain of excuses stopping them from moving forward. If you look at the scripture Jesus did not coddle or comfort this man He commanded him to get up and move forward.

God has called some of you to ministry, He’s given you a vision, some have simply been nudged to spend more time in His word, and while it’s clear what God wants to do in your life, you’ve placed obstacles in your path before you’ve even started. God is saying to you get up, take up His vision, take up the call and walk! Walk toward your destiny, step into His will, God is not going to ask you to do anything He hasn’t already equipped you to do.

Move forward knowing that, “He who has begun a good work in you will complete it.” (Philippians 1:6) Now… is… your… time!

Positioned For Greatness

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him; bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15: 4-5) NKJV

When you abide in God you position yourself for greatness. When you abide in Him you realize that it is only in Him that true success can be achieved. In Him you are strong, you’re victorious, divinely protected and able to flourish and bring forth much fruit but out of Him you are barren, unprotected and open to be destroyed and thrown away. Jesus said, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:6) There is an enemy out there who desires to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10) that can only happen if your outside of the will of God.

The gift of being in Him is that in Him there is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22) Out of Him is misery and unnecessary drama. Sarah and Abraham learned that painful lesson for themselves. When God told Abraham and Sarah that they would have a child, Sarah thought at her age that’s impossible, but Saints in Him anything is possible. Instead of abiding in God and trusting in Him Sarah cooked up what she thought was a great idea; give her handmaid to her husband and have a child through her. As you know things didn’t go as Sarah planned.
Her handmaid despised her, her husband’s obligations were now divided between her and another woman and despite her best efforts she still didn’t have a child of her own.

In Him is peace and joy out of Him is drama and pain. In Him is God’s promised fulfilled, (Isaac), out of Him is a sad mess, (Ishmael)  God is a merciful God and though you or someone you know may be out of Him and His will right now its not too late to abide in Him, He is here, ready and waiting for you. Choose to position yourself for greatness, choose to be the branch that bears much fruit, choose to have true love and peace in your life, choose to abide in Him.

A God Who Can

In the book of Matthew chapter 14 Jesus, who had retreated to a deserted place upon hearing about the death of John the Baptist, was teaching and healing the multitude of people who had followed Him. It was getting late in the day so the disciples told Jesus to send the multitude away so that they can travel to the villages to buy themselves some food. Jesus told the disciples that they didn’t need to go away just give the people something to eat. The disciples replied that they only had five loaves of bread and two fish and in their company were five-thousand men and this didn’t include the women and children that were amongst them.

Jesus said to the disciple, “Bring them here to Me.”  The scripture goes on to say, “He took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, and looking up to Heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” (Matthew 14: 13-21 NKJV)

There may be a vision or dream deep down inside of you or perhaps there is a goal, a great task or a great responsibility before you and you may think that you don’t have what you need to accomplish it. Some of us put our hopes, dreams and plans aside because we feel that what we have is not enough to make things happen.

Great  Man and Woman of God don’t lose hope because our Heavenly Father has proven to us time and time again that He can take the little that we have and multiply it. Jesus said that if you have faith as big as a mustard see you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). God can take the few resources you have, the few dollars you saved, the bit of time and space you have, the knowledge and
education that you do have, your hope, trust and mustard seed of faith and belief and He can bless and multiply it and take you to new levels in your life that you couldn’t possibly imagine.  Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God All things are possible.” (Matt 19:26) So don’t focus on what you don’t have and what you can’t do instead put your plans before the Great I AM, A God Who Can

Discover Your Vision

“Where there is no vision, the people perish.” (Proverbs 29:18)

Deep down inside of you, within the core of your being lies a great and mighty vision. I know this because God, your Creator, your Source, your Heavenly Father is a visionary. In the beginning, before our creation, God gazed upon the dark void and He saw life. God looked upon the void and saw light, the Heavens, the cosmos, the sky, the earth, the plant life, the animals and His greatest creation, Man. The bible describes God as being a God, “who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did.” (Romans 4:17) We possess this same ability. When God made Man in His image and likeness He gave us the ability to give birth to ideas that never existed before.  I know that a mighty vision lies within you because you are a child of God, made in His image and likeness; you were born to be a great visionary. Discover your vision today by asking yourself the following questions:

  1. Analyze your current state in life, is this what God wanted for your life?
  2. What do you desire to do most in life?
  3. What inspires you, what do you dream about?
  4. What are some of the ideas you’ve had that you can’t stop thinking about?
  5. Does your desire/idea contribute to the Kingdom of God?

If what you desire is something that will have a positive impact on the Kingdom of God, chances are this can be God’s vision for your life.

Remember saints you are citizens of God’s Kingdom, sons and daughters of the King of all Kings and you were born to do great things. Lord I ask You if it be your will that you will reveal to your people the vision that you have placed in them for Your namesake. I ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
