Intimately Known

You are loved, saved, sanctified, at peace with God, covered in the redemptive blood of the Lamb, filled with the power of the living God inside of you; you are intimately loved and known.

“But the very hairs of your head are all numbered.” (Matthew 10:30) Your Heavenly Father took the time to count them; you are intimately loved and known. Your forgotten prayers, not yet formulated prayers, your unspoken prayers, your thoughts, your hopes, your dreams and desires, your fears, your mind, the very depth of your heart, spirit and soul is intimately loved and known.

God’s living word has this to say about you, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5) God was and still is actively and intimately involved in your creation, your purpose, your ministry and every area of your life. You have been set apart for His purpose, created to be a world changer, chosen to represent Him and His Heavenly Kingdom. You are God’s chosen one, intimately loved and known.

An Honest Prayer

A man in the crowd called out to Jesus for help, his son was possessed with a spirit that robbed him of his speech. Whenever this spirit seized the boy it threw him to the ground. The boy would foam at the mouth, gnash his teeth and become rigid because of this evil spirit. Jesus asked for the boy to be brought to Him and when the spirit saw Him it immediately sent the boy into convulsions. Jesus asked the father how long had this been going on and the father replied, since childhood and often the spirit had thrown the boy into the fire and the water in an attempt to kill him.

The father said to Jesus, “If you can do anything, take pity on us and help us.” “If you can?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.” Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” Jesus commanded the spirit to come out of the boy and to never enter him again and the boy was healed. (Mark 9:14-27)

Many of us believe but often it’s our unbelief that keeps us from God’s blessings. We know it’s there, we try to deny it and pretend it’s not there. We try to hide it from ourselves and from God too, not knowing that God is a God who loves us flaws and all. God is a God who honors those who come to him in honesty and truth (John 4:23-24). The book of psalms said it well when it said, “you desire truth in the inner parts.” (Psalm 51:6)  God who is, “the author and perfecter of our faith” (Hebrew 12:2) is a God who wants to strengthen our belief and help us overcome our unbelief so that our faith may be complete in Him. So today I encourage you to bring every part of yourself to God, bring all of your faith, bring to Him your belief and unbelief, humbly come before your merciful King, flaws and all; give Him that honest prayer.

Father God we come to you flaws and all, we come to you with a humble an honest heart. We believe in you Father, we believe in your will and your works, it is our unbelief we struggle with from time to time. Merciful God help us overcome our unbelief so that we may be complete in you. Amen.

The Breath of God

When God created the Heavens, the Earth and the Cosmos, He created it simply by talking, “The earth was without form and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the water. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light.” Genesis 1:3. To give you a mental picture of just how awesome and powerful our God is; I recently read that scientist estimate that there are approximately 100 billion galaxies in the observable universe. We can only imagine the number of galaxies that are beyond our view.

Now God created all of these fascinating and complex things simply by talking but when God created Man He did something different, He breathed. Now God could of spoke Man into creation just as He did with everything else but He chose to give Man a part of Himself by breathing His essence, His love, His power into Man. The Creator of the Heavens, the Earth and over a trillion galaxies placed His power inside of you. The Creator who parted the Red Sea, rained manna from Heaven, made the blind see, the cripple walk, the deaf hear and raised the dead after they’ve been buried four days, this Creator along with His power and authority is inside of you. With every breath we take we should marvel and rejoice about the power and love that is inside of us, the gift of life that is inside of us, and the breath of God that lives in us. “And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.” (Genesis 2:7)

Dear God, Breathing is something that comes so natural to us that we tend to take it for granted, so God we thank you today for Your breath of life, we thank You for placing an intimate part of Yourself inside of us, we thank You for placing your unlimited power and authority inside of us. Your breath truly does measure how deep Your love is for us and we thank You God for your love, your power and the gift of Your breath.
