A Prayer Imagined

Imagine if every Believer were to pray and intercede for their families, friends and loved ones salvation…

Multiple generations would be saved.

Imagine if we were obedient to Jesus’ call for us to pray for our enemies…

The whole world would probably be saved! 🙂

Know the Father’s Will: Pray for Salvation

7D55B32C-9A68-4AF9-A7D6-655BB86CEA18God is so faithful. I’ve witnessed my family, one by one, come to know Christ Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Jesus cracked even the “tough nuts” in my life. As much as you love them, God loves them more. He desires their salvation even more than you do.

“This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants all people to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth.” –1Timothy 2:3-4

Sometimes you may wonder, why me Lord? I’m not a pastor or a church elder. Perhaps God chose you to be a shepherd amongst your family members, friends and co-workers because He trusts you to carry His message. Perhaps He can count on you to faithfully intercede on their behalf. You may just have the right ingredients within you that would draw those God placed before you to Christ. To borrow an illustration from my husband, see yourself as the hand of God extended to that loved one and yes, your bitter enemies.

Jesus encourages us to pray for our enemies, “But I tell you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be children of your Father in Heaven.” –Matthew 5:44-45

Choose to be God’s firefighter. You know what’s coming; we have this one short life to choose Christ and our eternal destination. Save lives by snatching people out of the fire (Jude 2:3). It is God’s desire to see that none perish; as children of God we share in that desire. And when you pray know that, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” – Mark 11:24

No matter how bad it looks, it may seem like your prayers are having no effect…don’t give up, don’t stop praying! Do not be dismayed by what you see or hear. Be like the persistent widow in Luke 18 and know that our God is a Righteous Judge. Hold on to the fact that HE Who Promised Is Faithful!

You Are God’s Heart

You Are God’s Heart

pink roseThis is Love: not that we loved God, but that He Loved Us and sent His Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. 1john 4:9-11

You are the object of God’s Love. The one God sacrificed His ALL for. Open up your heart and your eyes to a Love that stands before you with arms open wide. God’s not looking at your past or your faults. Your degrees and accomplishments. All He sees is His Love for you. A Love that never fails, leaves, or forsake you. A Love that won’t put you to shame.

All God wants is a life with you, its evident in how He identifies Himself throughout the bible: Father, Husband, Friend. That same power that raised God’s Beloved Son from the grave, He wants to place inside of you. He wants to equip you and provide for you. He wants to be everything you want and need and more. God’s desire is to see you live a life filled with dreams fulfilled and heart’s satisfied. A life filled with peace and overwhelming joy. Strength when you feel  weak.  Fearless and confident when the world tries to break you.

The thing about God is that He doesn’t make a promise He can’t keep; better yet there is no lie in Him. God says He has a plan for you, one that will prosper you in every area of your life. No longer defeated but victorious. No longer broken but made whole. A conqueror, an overcomer, a beacon of light and hope to others. That’s His plan for you. He wants to take you to greater heights and deeper depths. A place where you’re not shaken by the issues of this world. A place above the boisterous winds and the chaotic waves of this life. He wants to give you something the world cannot give you, Peace, Rest, Hope and  a Love that never fails or wavers. God’s greatest desire is to see you win.  He wants to save you from this empty, fruitless world and bless you with life and more life.

Will you let Him? Will you give God a moment of your time; open your heart to Him for just a moment to see the Truth for yourself. One moment with God can change your life forever. You don’t have to take any man or woman’s word for it, you can find out for yourself.

My hope is that you seize that moment with God while you can. Give Him a chance to show you the depth of His Love and if He has already, take your conversation to the next level. Ask the Father to reveal to you your purpose and gift to this world. The world needs your gift, it’s waiting for it, now is the time to discover it and pursue it and remember this, if God gave it to you that means you are fully equipped to carry it out.

In Jesus name I pray that you see the Father’s Heart for you. May salvation and God’s Love be yours. Amen to the grace and glory of God.

 I did not justify you to remind you of your guilt.

I did not reconcile you to cast you out of My presence.

“I have loved you with an everlasting love; I have drawn you with unfailing kindness.” Jeremiah 31:3

“Though the mountains be shaken and the hills be removed, yet My unfailing love for you will not be shaken nor My covenant of peace be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.” Isaiah 54:10

REPENT, says the LORD! Change the way you think of Me.

“For God so loved the world [YOU] that He [willingly] gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16  [emphasis mine]

“I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ [towards you], and to know this love that surpasses knowledge.” Ephesians 3:17-19 [emphasis mine]

I Am God’s House

God's houseThe book of Ezekiel speaks of a temple different than the one built during the time of Moses, Solomon, Zerubbabel and Herod. This temple is one made entirely of wood [i]. In the Hebrew culture, wood is a symbol for humanity. It was prophesied that God would fill this temple with His presence and remain there. Now there are no records of this temple being built in the natural. God was revealing to Ezekiel that He was preparing a body to restore and reconcile Man through, that body is His Son, Jesus.

The Holy Spirit confirms this in the scriptures. When Jesus cleared the temple courts of its market goods, He was asked to give them a sign to prove that He has the authority to do what He did. Jesus said to them, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.” Scripture reveals in the next verse that the temple He was speaking of, was His body. [ii]

Jesus says this in the book of John, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them and we will come to them and make our home with them.”[iii] We are God’s house! In Christ, we are the temple that God dwells and remains in. When you step into a room you can boldly say that the Kingdom of God is here. 🙂

Jesus made a very profound statement that sheds new light on ministry. He says that He and the Father are one and if you’ve seen me, you’ve seen the Father (John 14). Now if you are in Christ and the Spirit of God dwells in you, then no encounter is a chance encounter. When a person sees you, they’ve seen the Father for you are literally bringing God before every person you encounter in your day.

A Call To Ministry

The Father has called us to be co-laborers with Christ and ministers of the new covenant. We are not called to run and hide in the face of darkness but to be a reflection of God’s love to the broken, lost and bound. The will of God is this, to see that none perish. When God places an individual in your path, know that God has drawn them to you not to harm you but for one purpose. To impart life, grace and truth to this individual before you.

Whether you’re on the checkout line, waiting to be served at your favorite restaurant, picking up your child from school or at the Doctor’s office. God has raised you up to share His word and impart life. You carry light and life before that cashier, that waitress, your kid’s teacher, your doctor. No encounter is a chance encounter for all we know God has already prepared that unsaved heart to receive Him but He needs a body, that body that He prepared, to impart the love of His Son. That body is you in Christ.

You can give a person food, money, medical help, a roof over their head and the clothes on your back but if you fail to give them Jesus, the One who truly saves, sustains, clothe and heals, you’ve done nothing to help that person. You, who were made alive in Christ, hold the key to life for those who are literally walking around like the walking dead. If all you give is the material and you fail to impart the eternal; you might as well say, I’ve done nothing for them at all.

I don’t believe God wants us to defend Him; He is God, who in all of Creation can stand against Him. I believe He wants His children to make His Love known to the objects of His mercy. I want to encourage you to seek God in this. Find out from Him His will and path for you. You are God’s House; He chose to reside in you for a reason, ask Him to reveal to you what that is.

Seek and You Will Find

I’ve come to realize in my own walk with Christ that you cannot seek God and call upon His name and God not affect every area of your life. The beauty of prayer is this, when you pray you unleash God’s power and will into your life. He touches everyone and everything that is connected to you. Now God is not a bully, He doesn’t bulldoze His way into your life, He’s a gentleman, which is why He says, “Ask…seek…knock. He’s waiting for you to invite Him in.


I shared with my 17-year old son the news of me being accepted back into the Bachelors program after having to drop out twice. My son says to me, “I don’t know why you’re so surprised, didn’t God say that He was going to do it. God always does what He says!” To that I said Hallelujah!


A few months ago I was teaching my 10-year old about prayer and how she should bring her fears to God. Like most kids she confessed that the only thing she fears is her parents splitting up because she doesn’t want to be separated from her family. I don’t know why but I felt prompted to ask, “You don’t fear death?” and she said to me, “No, I know I’m going to be with my family in eternity.” My heart said, “Wow, glory to God!” I could not believe the faith that was coming out of a 10- year old child. I know adults who haven’t fully embraced the gift of eternity, yet my daughter does.

The other day my four-year old wanted me to play with him and I told him that mommy wasn’t feeling so good. As soon as the words left my mouth, he placed his little toddler hands on my chest and prayed, “Father God in the name of Jesus, make mommy feel all better. Amen.” To that I said, thank you God.

If I were to put a label on my husband it would be Mr. Revelation. He doesn’t spend the time studying the word, as most tend to think. You don’t see him holed up in his “spiritual closet” 24/7. He simply has the desire to know the heart of God and within minutes God reveals to him hidden truths you’ve never heard preached or taught before. It is amazing to see a man with no formal training gifted with a natural ability to read the “Spirit” behind the text and be able to understand and explain the most complicated verses in the bible.

Prayer Changes Things

Your prayer does not need to be high and lofty or of elegant speech, it just needs to be sincere. There have been moments in my prayer life where the only words I was able to get out in between my sobs is, “Father help me!” , and in those moments I witnessed the power of Heaven move with great authority in my life.

I’m sharing what God is doing in my family to encourage you in this, that every promise in Christ is a yes! God is not going to save you and not bless and heal your family. Your child is a “yes”; your marriage is a “yes”. Your healing is a “yes”. That victory you are seeking is a “yes” in Christ.

Don’t be deceived by what you see in this visible realm, even if the person who is giving you the most grief is the one closest to you. Don’t be discouraged for a greater realm is at work on your behalf.

Please know that you are “in Christ” today and every day that follows and that my friend is a position of greatness! Keep seeking; keep believing, your hope in Christ will not be put to shame.

 Ask…Seek… Knock…Pray! It’s an open invitation.

The Firstborn Blessing

Jesus is the firstbornHe chose our inheritance for us, the pride of Jacob, who He loved. Psalm 47:4

 Scripture reveals that those who are the descendants of Abraham by faith (Believers in Christ see Galatians 3:7) receive the firstborn blessing as an inheritance from the Father. This inheritance is revealed through the story of Jacob, the youngest son of Isaac. Isaac is the promised son of Abraham whom God established His covenant of grace through.

The Story of the Firstborn Blessing

Jacob desired the birthright and the blessings of the firstborn and sought it out deceptively. The time had come for Isaac to bless the firstborn. Isaac’s eyes were weak in sight. In order for Jacob to deceive his father, he had to take on the appearance of his brother Esau, whom Isaac loved. Jacob covered his hands and neck with goatskin, for his brother was a hairy man. Then he dressed himself in his brother’s best clothes. When Jacob drew near to his father to serve him the fresh game he requested, Isaac touched his hands and caught the familiar scent of his beloved son.

“Ah, the smell of my son is like the smell of a field that the Lord had blessed.” Gen 27:27

 Isaac was satisfied that this was indeed his beloved son and gave this firstborn blessing:

“May God give you Heaven’s dew and Earth’s richness- And abundance of grain and new wine. May nations serve you and peoples bow down to you. Be lord over your brothers, and may the sons of your mother  bow down to you. May those who curse you be cursed And those who bless you be blessed.”-Gen 27:28-29

 See Christ in the Scripturethe gift

For us Christ is the beloved firstborn of God and in the story of Jacob it was prophesied that the older will serve the younger. Christ says in Matthew 20:28, the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”  Jesus, the older brother made us the beneficiaries of the firstborn blessing.

God says, “I will appoint Him to be my firstborn, the most exalted of the kings of the Earth.” –psalm 89:27

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the first-born over all creation.” –Col 1:15

“He is the head of the body, the church; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead.”-Col 1:18

The Blessing is Yours

Through Christ the firstborn blessing is yours. Unlike Jacob this blessing did not have to be deceptively taken for it was willing given to you by the Father through Christ.

Jesus Says in His Prayer to the Father:

“I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one- I in them and you in me- so that they may be brought to complete unity.  Then the world will know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” –John 17:22-23

Whenever we are before the Father, just like Isaac, the Father is blinded to our sin and faults. For  Christ presents us Holy in the Father’s sight, without blemish and free from accusation. He doesn’t smell the rot and decay of our sinful nature just the sweet aroma of His beloved Son. This is our boast that, Christ loves us and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Because of the firstborn we are to God the pleasing aroma of Christ. (Ephesians 5:2, 2Cor 2:15, Col 1:19-22)

 We are the beneficiaries of the Firstborn Blessing. Dressed in the righteous robes of Christ and lovingly accepted in the Father’s sight.

A Prescription for Anxiety

I think at some point in our lives we’ve all faced anxiety. Whether you’re a parent, a business exec, pastor, politician or student you’re bound to get to a point where life and its tasks become increasingly overwhelming and when it hits you it’s like a vicious wave slamming into you from every side. So today when I felt the waves of anxiety crashing up against me I found myself saying, “Father help me, surely you have an answer… a prescription for this. Then I saw the words “Be anxious for nothing.” It just flashed into my mind so I picked up my bible and read God’s prescription for Anxiety.

Problem: Anxiety 

Symptoms: (according to WebMd) : Feeling overwhelmed/feelings of fear, palpitations, shortness of breath, chest pain, dizziness, nausea, a feeling of being detached from the world, feeling unable to control the simple things.

God’s Prescription: Philippians 4:6-7

Do not be anxious about anything.

Directions: In every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Please note: this prescription can be used not just in some but in every situation. You can present ANY and ALL situations to God: the good, the bad and the ugly stuff. 

Side Effects: The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Before He was arrested, Jesus prayed for this cup to pass from Him but not His will but God’s will be done and in the midst of Christ’s struggle, scripture says, Luke 22:44 New Living Translation (NLT) He prayed more fervently, and He was in such agony of spirit that His sweat fell to the ground like great drops of blood.”

God sent an angel of the Lord to strengthen Jesus in His time of need. Now if God can send help to His Beloved Son whom He willingly gave up for the sole purpose of reconciling us back to Him, to make us His Sons and Daughters then surely God can strengthen us and help us in our time of need.

When you study the roles of a good father and a good king you find something unique that they have in common, their top priority is your welfare and whole-being. God gave up His Son, not so you can remain broken from anxiety, loss and fear, Jesus laid down His life for you so that you could be made whole, in every area of your life. You can enjoy the benefits, the gifts of having Heaven’s best, because that’s what you got when He gave you Christ, you can have it with a simple thing called prayer.

Now prayer is not a formal thing, it’s not a loud and lofty act, its intimate. It’s you and God having a heart to heart conversation, not telling Him what you think He wants to hear but what is truly on your heart, the good… the bad… and the ugly. The word says we have not because we ask not. Got issues, then ask the Great I Am, Your Father to move mighty in that area of your life.  If nothing on Heaven or Earth can separate you from His Love then there’s no situation in Heaven or Earth that you can’t bring to God.  Your loss, your heartbreak even in this He can give you comfort and understanding. Your worries, your struggles, your dreams, He can see you through it, He can show you the way.

Christ came so you can have an abundant life not a defeated one and prayer is you grabbing a hold of it. Question… have you taken your prescription today?

Parable of the Two Sons Revealed

Matthew 21:28-32

Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.- John 15:12-13


In the book of Matthew Jesus tells a parable of a Father who asked his two sons to do some work in the vineyard. The first son said, “I will not”, but then later he changed his mind and went. The other son said, “I will sir”, but He didn’t go. Jesus pointed out that the first son did the will of his father. The revelation of the parable is this, the first son didn’t want to go but he placed his feelings and what he wanted to do aside (turned from self and turned to Christ) to fulfill the will of his father. The other son said he would go but chose to do what he wanted to do that day instead (chose self).

What is the will of the Father? To have sons and daughters 2 Corinthians 6:18 . To see that none perish Ezekiel 33:11. To have an intimate relationship with you John 17:22-23. We accomplish the Father’s will by obeying the command that is the fulfillment of all commandments, the command to Love.

“A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:34-35 (Romans 13: 8-10)

A True Story

There was a man dealing with the fallout of a business project that fell through. He was treated unfairly and was very frustrated about the whole thing when his brother in Christ asked him to pray for him because he was having a rough day. The first man placed his own struggles aside to help his friend who was in need.

That is love! That is the fulfillment of the new covenant of love. That is the will of our Father.

Further Note From the Parable

Jesus also went on to say that the sinners who were shown the way of righteousness (Christ being the way of righteousness for us today)  were entering the Kingdom of God ahead of the Religious leaders because they would not turn away from their own selfish ways and self-righteousness like the sinners had by turning to and believing in Jesus.






A Deeper Faith

“All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.” (Hebrews 11:13 NIV)

“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:39 NIV)

What is faith?  According to the Oxford dictionary faith means reliance, loyalty and complete trust. It is by faith that Noah moved when the Lord told Him to, building an ark on dry land where there were no sign, no forecast and no thought of rain. It is by faith that Abraham was willing to offer up his beloved son Isaac to  God
and because of Abraham’s faith he was blessed so abundantly that thousands of
years later we are still enjoying the gifts of God’s covenant with him today. I
ask you this, how deep is your faith?

Matthew 9:20-22 speaks of a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. She thought that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be healed and when she did the Lord turned to her and said that her faith had made her well. How deep is your faith?

To the outside world these men and women were strangers and aliens to this world, their actions were odd, their faith was strange. These people relied on God, they’re loyalty was with God and their trust was completely in God. Do you rely on God, do you trust him with your finances, with your business, with your promotion.  Are you loyal to Him do you spend enough time praying to Him and studying His word, do you put Him before all things in your life? Do you trust Him to heal your body, to move and tear down walls and move mountains in your life? How deep is your faith?

Noah, Abraham, the woman in the square, their eyes were fixed on God, they let go of the things that bound them to this world, and through their eyes the impossible was very possible. That is how deep our faith needs to be. Our faith needs to be so deep that it has no bounds and no limits. Our faith should be so deep that when people pass you by they can’t help but to say, he’s different, she’s very different,
there’s something different about that whole family. Saints it is time for us,
myself included, to show this world just how deep our faith is.

Father God in Heaven thank you for being a God that we can rely on, a mighty God that we can be loyal to and an awesome God that we can place our trust in. As we deepen our faith in you Father may you transform us into strangers and aliens that the world can’t help but to notice. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
