Positioned For Greatness

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him; bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” (John 15: 4-5) NKJV

When you abide in God you position yourself for greatness. When you abide in Him you realize that it is only in Him that true success can be achieved. In Him you are strong, you’re victorious, divinely protected and able to flourish and bring forth much fruit but out of Him you are barren, unprotected and open to be destroyed and thrown away. Jesus said, “If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned.” (John 15:6) There is an enemy out there who desires to steal, kill and destroy you (John 10:10) that can only happen if your outside of the will of God.

The gift of being in Him is that in Him there is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22) Out of Him is misery and unnecessary drama. Sarah and Abraham learned that painful lesson for themselves. When God told Abraham and Sarah that they would have a child, Sarah thought at her age that’s impossible, but Saints in Him anything is possible. Instead of abiding in God and trusting in Him Sarah cooked up what she thought was a great idea; give her handmaid to her husband and have a child through her. As you know things didn’t go as Sarah planned.
Her handmaid despised her, her husband’s obligations were now divided between her and another woman and despite her best efforts she still didn’t have a child of her own.

In Him is peace and joy out of Him is drama and pain. In Him is God’s promised fulfilled, (Isaac), out of Him is a sad mess, (Ishmael)  God is a merciful God and though you or someone you know may be out of Him and His will right now its not too late to abide in Him, He is here, ready and waiting for you. Choose to position yourself for greatness, choose to be the branch that bears much fruit, choose to have true love and peace in your life, choose to abide in Him.

A God Who Can

In the book of Matthew chapter 14 Jesus, who had retreated to a deserted place upon hearing about the death of John the Baptist, was teaching and healing the multitude of people who had followed Him. It was getting late in the day so the disciples told Jesus to send the multitude away so that they can travel to the villages to buy themselves some food. Jesus told the disciples that they didn’t need to go away just give the people something to eat. The disciples replied that they only had five loaves of bread and two fish and in their company were five-thousand men and this didn’t include the women and children that were amongst them.

Jesus said to the disciple, “Bring them here to Me.”  The scripture goes on to say, “He took the five loaves of bread and the two fish, and looking up to Heaven, He blessed and broke and gave the loaves to the disciples; and the disciples gave to the multitudes. So they all ate and were filled, and they took up twelve baskets full of the fragments that remained.” (Matthew 14: 13-21 NKJV)

There may be a vision or dream deep down inside of you or perhaps there is a goal, a great task or a great responsibility before you and you may think that you don’t have what you need to accomplish it. Some of us put our hopes, dreams and plans aside because we feel that what we have is not enough to make things happen.

Great  Man and Woman of God don’t lose hope because our Heavenly Father has proven to us time and time again that He can take the little that we have and multiply it. Jesus said that if you have faith as big as a mustard see you can move mountains (Matthew 17:20). God can take the few resources you have, the few dollars you saved, the bit of time and space you have, the knowledge and
education that you do have, your hope, trust and mustard seed of faith and belief and He can bless and multiply it and take you to new levels in your life that you couldn’t possibly imagine.  Jesus said, “With men this is impossible, but with God All things are possible.” (Matt 19:26) So don’t focus on what you don’t have and what you can’t do instead put your plans before the Great I AM, A God Who Can

A Deeper Faith

“All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth.” (Hebrews 11:13 NIV)

“These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. God had planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” (Hebrews 11:39 NIV)

What is faith?  According to the Oxford dictionary faith means reliance, loyalty and complete trust. It is by faith that Noah moved when the Lord told Him to, building an ark on dry land where there were no sign, no forecast and no thought of rain. It is by faith that Abraham was willing to offer up his beloved son Isaac to  God
and because of Abraham’s faith he was blessed so abundantly that thousands of
years later we are still enjoying the gifts of God’s covenant with him today. I
ask you this, how deep is your faith?

Matthew 9:20-22 speaks of a woman who had been bleeding for 12 years. She thought that if she could just touch the hem of Jesus’ garment she would be healed and when she did the Lord turned to her and said that her faith had made her well. How deep is your faith?

To the outside world these men and women were strangers and aliens to this world, their actions were odd, their faith was strange. These people relied on God, they’re loyalty was with God and their trust was completely in God. Do you rely on God, do you trust him with your finances, with your business, with your promotion.  Are you loyal to Him do you spend enough time praying to Him and studying His word, do you put Him before all things in your life? Do you trust Him to heal your body, to move and tear down walls and move mountains in your life? How deep is your faith?

Noah, Abraham, the woman in the square, their eyes were fixed on God, they let go of the things that bound them to this world, and through their eyes the impossible was very possible. That is how deep our faith needs to be. Our faith needs to be so deep that it has no bounds and no limits. Our faith should be so deep that when people pass you by they can’t help but to say, he’s different, she’s very different,
there’s something different about that whole family. Saints it is time for us,
myself included, to show this world just how deep our faith is.

Father God in Heaven thank you for being a God that we can rely on, a mighty God that we can be loyal to and an awesome God that we can place our trust in. As we deepen our faith in you Father may you transform us into strangers and aliens that the world can’t help but to notice. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
