Finding Your Purpose

Finding Your Purpose

purposeEverything in creation has a purpose. The sun and the moon have a purpose. Our oceans, the animals, the trees all serve a purpose. The organs, nerves and cells of your body all serve a defined purpose. What are you doing for the kingdom of God?

If the smallest insect serves a purpose, if the wind, something you can not see has a purpose, surely you child of God, you have a purpose. What are you doing for the kingdom of God? I know what you’re thinking, this isn’t a good time for me, I don’t have a degree, I have no experience. I don’t have the finances, my life is a mess right now. Answer me this, name one person in the bible whom God used with a degree in theology. Name one with a perfect resume, a perfect life, name one that had it together when God called them. The only qualifications the Father is looking for is a willing heart. You see when the Spirit of God is with you and in you; that same power that raised Christ from the grave, you don’t need a Masters or a PhD. You don’t need a six figure bank account. The only letters and numbers you need are G-O-D, He’s number one!

In the kingdom of God there’s only one thing that is needed and that’s Him. It’s only through Him your going to build that ark, through Him your going to set His people free. It is only through Him that the vision for your life will be fulfilled. Please don’t misunderstand what I’m saying, I’m not trying to down those of you who have these things. I applaud your achievements but see it not as self promotion, see it as a divine placement, a platform to spread God’s word. Ask yourself, how can I use this achievement to promote the kingdom of God?

You who are heaven bound, sons and daughters of the Most High are you willing to serve? What are you doing for the kingdom of God?

Jesus walked this earth with a purpose and when He hung on that cross, beaten, bruised and wounded. He who was without sin became sin so that we can live…life…free, the righteousness of God in Christ. With His last breath on that cross Christ declared, “It is finished!” I don’t know about you but when I take my last breath I want to be able to say, “We did it Father, all that you asked me to do, it’s done. My purpose was fulfilled. Thank you for using me!”

What are you doing for the Kingdom of God? What is your purpose?  What gifts do you bring to the king? If you don’t know what it is.. “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”Matthew 7:7-12

Writing is the gift that God has given me, I submit myself as His pen. Whatever He places on my heart, I write and share. Every person reading this post has a purpose, every child of God on this earth has a divine purpose.  You know the will of the Father is to see that none perish. Christ came to set those bound by hurt, shame and sin…free.  He laid down His life so that we may have life lived abundantly. He is that life. As believers it is our task to share that life and light to the bound, lost, and broken. Are you willing to lay down your life for them? Will you take up the cross and share  Christ.

My Prayer For You

There is this consistent theme in the bible. Throughout scripture, God uses people to express His love and fulfill His will through. God needs you. I have one favor to ask of you, seek God about His Plan. Ask Him what He would have you to do for His Kingdom. What gifts can you bring to His table.  It is my prayer that  God will reveal your purpose to you.

May God bless you and reveal His heart to you. Amen.

The Gift of all Gifts

“For unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given; and the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of His government and peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David and over His Kingdom, to order it and establish it with judgment and justice from that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this.” (Isaiah 9:6-7)

When Adam fell we lost the Kingdom of God and all of the gifts that come with it.  It was in the garden of Eden that God first revealed His gift to Man. God declared that He would put enmity between the enemy and the woman, and that the Seed of the woman will bruise his head and that the enemy shall bruise His heel (Genesis 3:15).

The birth of Christ is the gift of all gifts; it is God’s promise to Man fulfilled. Because of God’s love for Man, He came down in the flesh and restored all that was lost. Oh what a gracious gift.

Because of God’s grace we gained a great leader and a government that cannot compromise or be bought.  Oh what a merciful gift. Because of God’s love we gained a wonderful counselor whom we can cast all of our cares and burdens on, oh what a wonderful gift.

Because of God’s faithfulness we’ve gained a Father like no other, one who is mighty and powerful, a Father that can move mountains, part the deepest seas and heal with just a single thought, oh what a mighty Christmas gift. With this gift we’ve gained access to a Father who can supply all of our needs, one who will never leave us, forsake us or fail us.

With this gift we’ve gained true peace, the kind of peace that can calm any storm that life throws at us, peace that can heal broken hearts and restore and rejuvenate the soul. What an awesome Christmas gift.

This Christmas let’s give thanks to God for giving us the gift of all gifts for giving us the desires of His heart. Glory Hallelujah what a beautiful gift! Happy Birthday Jesus and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of  you God’s children.

Be A Vessel For God

“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; some to honor, and some to dishonor. If a Man (You) therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honor, sanctified, and meet for the Master’s (Our Heavenly Fathers’) use, and prepared unto every good work.” 2Timothy 2:20-21

Within us all lie many gifts, gifts that are more valuable than silver and gold.  Your gifts can be used to inspire or destroy. God does not want an ordinary life for you, He urges you to purge yourself from the works of the flesh so that He may use you and your gifts to do great things for Him. For God says in Jeremiah 29:11, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Note that prosperity is  defined as “the state of flourishing, thriving, success or good fortune” and though it is often associated with financial wealth it is not limited to wealth, it includes all areas of your life, your family, your work, your happiness, your health. God wants to prosper you in every area of your life. God not only wants to bless you but He wants you to be a blessing.

You can use your gifts today to be a blessing. God has dropped a family member, a friend, a co-worker, or perhaps that stranger you pass on the street everyday in your spirit and in your path today. Do not pass up this opportunity to be a blessing and to be the vessel that inspires that individual.

I pray in Jesus name that not only you recognize the great gifts that lie within but that you use them to be a mighty vessel for God. I encourage you to be a vessel for God not just today but every day so that when others see you they will know that the Kingdom of God does exist and that He lives in you. Amen.

Thank You God

When Jesus entered a certain village He came across ten lepers. When He saw them He said, “Go show yourselves to the priests.” As the lepers went they were healed. The scripture goes on to say, “And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice glorified God, and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” (Luke 17:11-19)

Our God is a God who blesses, keeps, protects, heals and answers prayers each and every day. Like the nine lepers we sometimes fail to give thanks to Him who never fails us. There is so much we take for granted like breathing, waking up with a right mind, the ability to walk, talk, hear and see.  Our family, our jobs, our homes all of these things are gracious gifts from our Lord. So let everyday be a day of thanksgiving to our Lord. God Bless You Saints!

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.” (Psalm 100:4. Amen.

I AM WOMAN

Dedicated to my daughters Nia & Andrea

Contrary to popular belief you are a vital piece to God’s divine plan. Created with divine purpose given the power and authority to carry out God’s will here on Earth (Genesis 1:26-28). You are a chosen ambassador, chosen to represent the Kingdom of Heaven. You are Man’s helper, yes a  helper (Genesis 2:18) and though this word has been used to devalue you, you wear the title  proudly because you know that a helper is someone who is stronger or as strong as; smarter or as smart as the person you’re trying to help. Contrary to popular belief you are not the weaker link.

You are trusted by God. Trusted to carry, nurture and protect God’s most precious creation, life, trusted to carry His only begotten Son. Yes the child-bearing process is painful but you are incredibly strong and able to bear this burden. Contrary to popular belief it’s not a Man’s world. You are a daughter of Abraham (Luke 13:16), a “mother of nations” (Gen.17:16) and co-heir with Christ. His blood, His Spirit, His peace and abundant life, your inheritance, it was rightly given to you too. (Zelophehad’s daughter’s Numbers 27:7)

You are a powerhouse my Proverb 31 sister. Able to make and close deals, successfully raise the next generation (Virtuous Wife), lead an army (Deborah), lobby before kings and intercede for a nation (Queen Esther). You are a powerful and influential woman able to save a nation or topple a government (Delilah, Jezebel, Herodias and Salome). By the way ladies this is a power we need to keep in check use them for good not evil (smile!).

Contrary to popular belief you are more than a pretty face, more than your sensual curves, you’re a warrior, a minister [Many women minister to Jesus: Luke 8], a teacher, a passionate deliverer of the good news. “Come; see a man who told me everything I ever did. Could this be the Messiah?” (The Samaritan Woman by the well (John 4:28:30 NIV).  You are a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a good friend. You are a savvy and smart individual with God’s gift of patience, endurance and selflessness skillfully embedded inside of you.

So the next time someone tries to devalue you, deny you, limit you or try to ignore the power and the gifts of the Most High inside of you. Remind them who designed you, chose and trusted to bring forth life through you, redeemed you and elevated you, you daughter of Abraham, my beautiful Proverb 31 sister. Boldly say to the ones who try to oppose you, I am a daughter of the King of Kings, able to do all things through Christ. I am Woman, fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Amen.

A Sister’s Faith

It was the winter of 1977 I was about 2 ½ years old when my dad was rushed to the emergency room because he was having trouble breathing. The doctor’s said that he had some form of pneumonia but they couldn’t figure out what type of pneumonia he had and on top of that his lungs were filling up with fluid. His blood oxygen levels were extremely low so low that he should have been unconscious but by grace he was still with us. My father’s condition was something this doctor had never seen before so he quickly got on the phone and spoke with doctor’s and specialist throughout the nation and in Europe and not a single one could figure out what strain of pneumonia he had or how to properly treat him. Around 2 am that morning the doctor pulled my mom aside and told her that my father will not make it through the night and that now was the time to notify his next of kin. She called my dad’s sister, my Aunt Sadie in Florida, it was around 6 am her time. When my mother told my aunt what was going on, my aunt boldly declared, “My brother will not die!” When my aunt hung up she got back on the phone and left a message for the school she worked for to let them know that she would not be in that day. She then fell on her knees and cried out to God and entered in to a
holy fast and prayer for her brother. She made a vow to God that she would not move until He moved in her brother’s life. Around 10:30 am (Florida time) my aunt’s phone rings and she’s led to answer it, it was my mom who told her that my dad made a spontaneous recovery, these were the doctor’s exact words. It was a miracle according to them but I know it was the victorious hand of God and His response to “a sister’s faith”.

The Doctor’s still don’t know what exactly happened to my father or how he recovered but I believe that my dad’s story is like the story of the man who had been born blind that Jesus healed. The disciples asked Jesus, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” And Jesus answered, “Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him.” (John 9:1-3 NKJV) My dad became deathly ill not because of sin but so the mighty works of God and the power of intercessory prayer can be revealed in him.
