A Declaration Prayer

A Declaration Prayer

To my sister-in-law Jean, an angel on earth.

“Now fear the Lord and serve Him with all faithfulness…”

“If serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve…”

“But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24)

I have the most amazing sister-in-law who has served as my Angel on earth on many occasions. She has faithfully loved and served the Lord for almost 30 years. When we first met she told me about the covenant that God made with her while she was in her teens, He told her if she faithfully served Him her family will be saved. It took some time but one by one her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and other loved ones all came to Christ. The other day I asked her how does she stand so strong in the gap for the “tough” ones you know the ones that seem impossible to save? She explained to me that every day she makes this prayer declaration, “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.” (Joshua 24: 15) NKJV

When you dig deeper into this statement you’ll see that your house is not limited to the four walls you live in or the people who are in it, your house consist of everyone who God placed in your heart. This statement was made by Joshua after he and the Israelites entered the Promised Land. I found it interesting to learn that the Israelites served the Lord throughout the lifetime of Joshua and the elders who worked with him. It would seem that everyone who was connected to Joshua faithfully served the Lord.

I share this with you to encourage you to make the same bold declaration for all of those who are in your heart. Claim your loved ones and all who are connected to you, continue to faithfully serve Him and then watch Him faithfully move in their lives and yours.

As for me and my house we will serve the Lord!

Be blessed God’s people.
