Self will or God’s will?

“Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened.” (Matt 7:7)

Sometimes in life you wonder if you are making the right choice.  You ask, is this the right career move for me, is he/she the person I’m supposed to spend the rest of my life with, is where I am right now where I’m supposed to be?  Someone recently asked me, how do you know if you are truly seeking God’s will and not your own self will?  I believe the answer to that question was revealed when Christ said, “Seek first His Kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” (Matt 6:33) In other words seek God first in everything you do and He will direct your path. I also encourage you to seek Him with a heart of a child.

One day my husband placed our five year old daughter on the back of our truck, he looked at her and said jump and without hesitation she jumped and of course he caught her.   I realized then that it is with this heart, this trust and faith that we should seek our Heavenly Father with.

When you seek God in everything you do seek Him knowing that He will show you His face. When you seek Him , know that if you jump He will catch you. Seek Him knowing that what God has for you no one can take from you. If a situation in your life is not God’s will trust that He will shut the door and if it is His will, believe that He will bust that door wide open for you. When you’ve asked for God’s will to be done in every situation that comes up in your life know that He will make your crooked paths straight. Saints as you begin to seek God and His will you will find your relationship with the Father deepening as you grow more and more reliant on Him and not yourself. As you continue to ask God for His will to be done in your life you will soon discover God’s true purpose for your life and the path that is right for you.

Seeking God first is the answer to all of life’s questions, it is the key to your success and your breakthrough. I encourage you saints to deepen your relationship with God by seeking Him and His will in everything you do. I pray in Jesus name that you seeking Him becomes as natural and as effortless for you as breathing. Amen.
